Sonja has tried to reconcile her different passions: languages, media, music and journalism.
Being a tireless Anglophile, she finished Philological Highschool and then Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, to become an English teacher and a translator. In the past seven years she has worked as a music journalist for several Serbian magazines and websites (including Time Out, Huper, Popboks and B92.net), and currently volunteers as a music editor for NRBG radio station. She was lucky to attend several leadership programmes and seminars in her highschool years (in USA, the Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Montenegro and Serbia). She enjoys meeting people from different cultures, picking up silly trivia facts and making collages. Instead of postcards, she tries to "collect" phrases from other languages.     
She has worked as a Serbian teacher for EVS volunteers in Media Education Centre since December 2009, and this will be the first time she participates in IYMS.
She is still a bit of a culture vulture and a big dreamer. If you get to meet her, you'll notice that she devours more music than chocolate.
